Avi Simhon
Prof. Avi Simhon is the acting chairman of the Israeli National Economic Council (NEC), as of december 2015.
Before acting as chairman, Simhon was a senior Macroeconomics lecturer in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and also the head of the Agricultural Economics department.
Simhon is an expert on the Israeli Economy, and has published the book “The Israeli economy: From the Controlling Hand to The Invisible Hand” (Broadcasted University, 2011). Simhon has published on the subjects of labor curruption as well.
Simhon obtained his bachelors and masters degrees in Economics and Math from the Hebrew University, and a PHD in Economics from the University of Minnesota.

Eden Bar Tal
Eden Bar Tal is a businessman and entrepreneur who has served in senior positions in both the public and private sectors. Most recently he was the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Communications (2009-2013).
Previously, he served as CEO of Cukierman & Co., a Tel-Aviv based investment house; Vice President of Argyle Global Opportunities LP, a US based investment company; and Advisor to the Israeli Minister of Tourism.
He holds a LL.M. (Master) at Law from the University of London, and LL.B. at Law from Tel-Aviv University.
Pedro Schwartz
Pedro Schwartz is a Fundación Rafael del Pino Research Professor at the Universidad Camilo Jose Cela, Madrid, Spain, and an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute, Washington DC, America.
He is an economist, political scientist, and consultant with expertise on pensions, monetary policy, and the European Economic Community. Schwartz has previously held positions at the Research Department of the Bank of Spain, the research center FUNDESCO, and at the DMR Foundation.
He now serves on the Academic Advisory Council of the Liberales Institut in Zurich. He is secretary of the Spanish think tank Civismo.
In September 2014, he was elected President of the Mont Pèlerin Society, of which he has been a member since 1977.
Schwartz obtained his doctorate in political science from the London School of Economics where he studied under Lionel Robbins and Karl Popper and from where he later received a Master’s in economics.

Diana Furchtgott-Roth
Diana Furchtgott-Roth, former chief economist of the U.S. Department of Labor, is director of Economics21 and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. She is a columnist for MarketWatch.com, and Tax Notes. From 2003 to 2005, Ms. Furchtgott-Roth was chief economist of the U.S. Department of Labor. From 2001 to 2002 she served as chief of staff of President George W. Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers. Ms. Furchtgott-Roth served as deputy executive director of the Domestic Policy Council and associate director of the Office of Policy Planning in the White House under President George H.W. Bush from 1991 to 1993, and she was an economist on the staff of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers from 1986 to 1987.
Ms. Furchtgott-Roth is the author of five books, most recently Disinherited: How Washington Is Betraying America’s Young (Encounter Books, 2015), coauthored with Jared Meyer. She has also written Regulating to Disaster: How Green Jobs Policies Are Damaging America’s Economy (Encounter Books 2012), Women’s Figures: An Illustrated Guide to the Economic Progress of Women In America (AEI Press, 2012), and Overcoming Barriers to Entrepreneurship in the United States (Lexington Books, 2008).
Ms. Furchtgott-Roth has degrees in economics from Swarthmore College and Oxford University.

Shlomo Kalish
Dr. Shlomo Kalish is the CEO and Chairman of Jerusalem Global Ventures Ltd.
Shlomo is considered one of Israel’s leading technology investors. He founded investment companies Jerusalem Global Group in 1994 and Jerusalem Global Ventures in 1999. During his leadership of Jerusalem Global, Shlomo led investments in several successful companies including: Mellanox Semiconductors, QXL, Galileo Semiconductors, Creo, Accord Video, Saifun Semiconductors, PowerDSine, and Picture Vision. In 2007, Forbes recognized Shlomo’s accomplishments by selecting him to Forbes Midas List worldwide and named him No. 1 Investor in Israel.
Prior to starting his investment career, Shlomo served in the Israeli Air Force as a fighter pilot. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from MIT, a M.Sc. from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and a B.Sc. from Tel Aviv University.
Shlomo is active on the boards of many nonprofit and academic institutions, including Shalom Beineinu, a charitable organization he founded, the Board of Governors The Technion, The Jerusalem College of Technology, and various Chabad educational institutions.

Mark J. Perry
Mark J. Perry is a professor of economics and finance at the University of Michigan’s Flint campus and a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.
He is best known as the creator and editor of the popular economics blog Carpe Diem.
Perry holds two graduate degrees in economics (M.A. and Ph.D.) from George Mason University in Washington, D.C. In addition, he holds an MBA degree in finance from the University of Minnesota.
Since 1997, Professor Perry has been a member of the Board of Scholars for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a research and public policy institute in Michigan.

Russ Roberts
Russ Roberts is the John and Jean De Nault Research Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Roberts hosts the award-winning weekly podcast EconTalk–hour-long conversations with authors, economists and others. Past guests include Milton Friedman, Thomas Piketty, Joseph Stiglitz, Nassim Taleb, Michael Lewis, and Christopher Hitchens.
His latest book is How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life: An Unexpected Guide to Happiness and Human Nature (Portfolio, 2014). Roberts explores the ideas in Smith’s forgotten masterpiece, The Theory of Moral Sentiments, and applies them to modern life. Roberts is also the author of three novels that teach economic ideas and principles: The Price of Everything: A Parable of Possibility and Prosperity (Princeton University Press, 2008), The Invisible Heart: An Economic Romance (MIT Press, 2002), and The Choice: A Fable of Free Trade and Protectionism (Prentice Hall, 3rd edition, 2006). The Choice was named one of the top ten books of 1994 by Business Week and one of the best books of 1994 by the Financial Times.
Roberts is the co-creator (with filmmaker John Papola) of the Keynes-Hayek rap videos (Fear the Boom and Bust and The Fight of the Century) that have been viewed over 8 million times on YouTube.
A three-time teacher of the year, Roberts has taught at George Mason University, Washington University in St. Louis (where he was the founding director of what is now the Center for Experiential Learning), the University of Rochester, Stanford University, and the University of California, Los Angeles. His PhD in economics is from the University of Chicago.
