Yehonatan Givati is an associate professor at Hebrew University Law School. He is also affiliated with the Center for Empirical Studies of Decision Making and the Law.

His scholarly interest lies in the area of economic analysis of law. His work is both theoretical and empirical. He applies the tools of law and economics to three areas of law: tax law, law enforcement, and administrative law.

He received a PhD from the Economics Department at Harvard University in 2013, and an SJD from Harvard Law School in 2011.

Givati served as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago Law School and at Columbia Law School. Before starting to teach he was a Post Graduate Research Fellow in Law and Economics at New York University School of Law.

Casey B. Mulligan is the former Chief Economist for the Council of Economic Advisors (2018-2019). He is currently Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1993 and has also served as a visiting professor teaching public economics at Harvard University, Clemson University, and the Irving B. Harris Graduate School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago. He is affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research, the George J. Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State, and the Population Research Center. He has received awards and fellowships from the Manhattan Institute, the National Science Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Smith-Richardson Foundation, and the John M. Olin Foundation. His research covers capital and labor taxation, the gender wage gap, health economics, Social Security, voting, and the economics of aging.

Mulligan has written widely on discrepancies between economic analysis and conventional wisdom. Before Side Effects, he wrote The Redistribution Recession and parental Priorities and Economic Inequality. He has also written numerous op-eds and blog entries for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the Chicago Tribune, blogsupplyanddemand.com, and other blogs and periodicals.

Ruth Richardson the politician has a well-known profile nationally and internationally.  

As New Zealand’s Minister of Finance from 1990 to 1993 she was the principal architect of New Zealand’s second wave of reform, complementing the first wave of reforms initiated in the mid-1980s by New Zealand’s other well-known Minister of Finance, Sir Roger Douglas. Her institutional framework for the conduct of fiscal policy, the Fiscal Responsibility Act 1994, is widely regarded as setting international best practice, and is a cornerstone of New Zealand’s economic framework.

In the years since Ruth left Parliament in 1994, she has had an extensive international practice as a public policy consultant. She has advised widely on strategies designed to achieve the practice of good governance and the development of high quality policy frameworks. Her client base has spanned:

• Sovereign Governments
• International Agencies
• Ministers of Finance and their Ministries
• Private sector business agencies and ‘Think Tanks’ who have an interest in promoting the twin virtues of good governance and good policy

Geographically her work has taken her to nearly every corner of the globe, including Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.

Her directorships involve her in a wide spectrum of global business activity, and the responsibilities she has shouldered on her Boards have contributed to her expertise in many aspects of corporate governance. Aside from New Zealand, Board work takes Ruth regularly to Australia, China, the UK, the USA and the Pacific.

Russ Roberts is the John and Jean De Nault Research Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution. Roberts hosts the award-winning weekly podcast EconTalk–hour-long conversations with authors, economists and others. Past guests include Milton Friedman, Thomas Piketty, Joseph Stiglitz, Nassim Taleb, Michael Lewis, and Christopher Hitchens.

His latest book is How Adam Smith Can Change Your Life: An Unexpected Guide to Happiness and Human Nature (Portfolio, 2014). Roberts explores the ideas in Smith’s forgotten masterpiece, The Theory of Moral Sentiments, and applies them to modern life. Roberts is also the author of three novels that teach economic ideas and principles: The Price of Everything: A Parable of Possibility and Prosperity (Princeton University Press, 2008), The Invisible Heart: An Economic Romance (MIT Press, 2002), and The Choice: A Fable of Free Trade and Protectionism (Prentice Hall, 3rd edition, 2006). The Choice was named one of the top ten books of 1994 by Business Week and one of the best books of 1994 by the Financial Times.

Roberts is the co-creator (with filmmaker John Papola) of the Keynes-Hayek rap videos (Fear the Boom and Bust and The Fight of the Century) that have been viewed over 8 million times on YouTube.

A three-time teacher of the year, Roberts has taught at George Mason University, Washington University in St. Louis (where he was the founding director of what is now the Center for Experiential Learning), the University of Rochester, Stanford University, and the University of California, Los Angeles. His PhD in economics is from the University of Chicago.

Osnat is the VP of the Hadera Municipality and head of the society and community division, which is in charge of education in Hadera. She also serves on the council of the Kfar Saba Municipality and serves as deputy mayor. Osnat is a Lecturer and Entrepreneur of Educational Administrative Initiatives. Prior, Osnat was the Educational Initiator and Lecturer of Educational Administration at the Center for Academic Studies in Or Yehuda.

In 2014, Osnat became director of the high school education department in the municipality of Holon. Osnat began her professional career in education as a teacher before serving as a school principal for five years. She spent six years working as a research coordinator focusing on experimental schools at the center for technological and scientific education at Tel Aviv University’s School of Education. Osnat also worked as an academic advisor at experimental schools and coordinated the Learning Technologies Forum at the University. She developed the website: Innovations in Education at Tel Aviv University and managed the experimentation and innovation division at the Ministry of Education.

Osnat has a PhD in education policy and an MA, with distinction, in administration and leadership in education from Tel Aviv University. She holds a B.Ed. and a teaching certificate in mathematics from Beit Berl College. Osnat is also a graduate of the directors’ course of the Magid Institute founded by the Hebrew University.

Dr. Sarel is a senior fellow at Kohelet. Until March 2014, he served as the Chief Economist and director of state revenue, research, and international affairs.

He obtained his doctoral degree from Harvard University, where he was also a teaching fellow.

Dr. Sarel worked in the World Bank, The International Monetary Fund, The Bank of Israel, in the Ministry of Finance as head of the research department and in Harel Insurance and Finance Group as the head of the economics and research department.

David Tadmor’s areas of expertise are competition law, M&A, government regulation, and banking law.  David represents leading multinational clients as well as many of Israel’s largest financial institutions and publicly traded companies.

In 2005, David formed Tadmor & Co. with 3 associates, later to become Tadmor Levy & Co. – a leading Israeli law firm with 130 lawyers and trainees. The firm specializes in M&A and technology, litigation, competition/antitrust, project finance, infrastructure and energy, banking and payment systems, government regulation and administrative law, transportation, health, real estate, labor law, securities regulation, and environmental law.

Widely-recognized as a foremost expert in competition law and regulation, David served as the Director-General of the Israel Competition Authority. Under his tenure, the ICA tripled in size and much of the foundations for Israel’s competition law and enforcement policies were laid.

As a leading government regulation lawyer, David regularly represents major clients before governmental bodies and legislative committees and has been involved in many of Israel’s major regulatory reforms.

David has more than 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions – public companies, private equity, privatizations, cross-border technology, and other transactions. An expert in banking law, David regularly represents Israel’s largest banking institutions.

David spent five years as a corporate attorney with the New York law firm of Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz (WLRK), a senior partner at a leading mergers and acquisition firm in Tel Aviv, and an adjunct professor at Israel’s prominent academic institutions. He received his first degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and his masters and doctoral degrees from NYU School of Law.  David is a member of the Israel and New York State bar associations.  He is also an accomplished photographer, whose work can be seen here.

Ori Yogev is the Chairman of the Alumah Fund which invests in Infrastructure and is also Chairman and Founder of “Future Mobility” which is working to advance transportation in Israel. Ori has rich experience as CEO and Chairman of many companies, amongst them Israel Railways and Bezeq. As a public servant, he was CEO of the Government Companies Authority (2013-2017), National Economic Advisor (2009-2010), and head of the Budget Division (2002-2004). He Also headed committees on reforms in the Israeli Electricity market, Ports, Postal service, Railways, and Mekorot.

Shaked Maane is an economist at the Kohelet Economic Forum. She publishes research on various issues, amongst them the tourism industry. She has a BA in Economics and Business and is an MBA student at the Hebrew University. Prior, she worked in the Capital Markets Authority in the pension division. Shaked is an alumnus of the Fall 2017 Seminar of FEI-JIMS.

Liat Natovich-Koshizky is the deputy-editor of Hashiloach journal, and a former economy journalist for Makor Rishon Newspaper. She is also part of the managing committee and founder of the “Our Interest” public lobby group.
Liat is a lawyer and has a BA in Law from the Hebrew University. She is the alumnus of the Spring 2016 FEI-JIMS seminar.

Ariel is the Opinion section editor at Globes Newspaper. He’s studying for his MA in Political Science at Bar Ilan University and has a BA in Political Science and Communications from Ariel University. Prior, he was an Economy journalist at Israel Hayom Newspaper and spokesperson to MK Sharren Haskel. He is the alumnus of the 2015 Spring Seminar of FEI-JIMS.
